Milo & Zach’s Fairytale Romance Novel Brought to Life at The Boston Public Library

Milo and her wedding party spent a beautiful spring morning getting ready at The Lenox Hotel, directly across from their wedding venue. Adorned in shirts repping groom Zach’s face, the group had a fun and relaxing morning taking polaroids and drinking champagne. The wedding party later presented the bride with a photo album of their morning, with handwritten notes from each friend.

Everyone was in full pamper mode by Love Notes by June when the Marissa Pedone Events team arrived, excited to celebrate the couple and their growing families.

While the seperate wedding parties took photos around the city with Allegro Photography and Precious Moments Films, The Catered Affair team was hard at work once the clock struck 5pm. It’s incredible to see this team in action, having less than 2 hours to set up the welcome and ceremony areas before doors open for guests. Poppy Floral team focused their efforts first on a beautiful grand staircase design, complete with greenery and hurricane candles. This is a quintessential first look spot for BPL couples, and allowed for a breathtaking view of Milo’s veil, which was decorated with delicate lace appliques.

A gorgeous, custom card box accompanied a stunning arrangement on the welcome table, drawing guests immediate attention with pops of bright pink and peach florals. Innocenti Strings performed romantic ballads which were soft and inviting to guests as they entered building and headed out to the Courtyard for the ceremony.

Our team was honored to be able to witness a very special tradition in Chinese culture during Milo & Zach’s wedding ceremony. This is a significant ritual where the bride and groom serve tea to their elders as a symbol of respect and gratitude. This ceremony involves the couple kneeling and presenting tea to their parents, grandparents, or other important family members. During this ceremony, our couple served their futute in-laws the tea from a special tea set purchased by the bride’s parents for her wedding.

The conclusion of the ceremony was signified with a kiss, with the fountain springing to life, accentuating the joy of the guests. As family and friends enjoyed cocktail hour in the downstairs spaces, Milo & Zach chose to take some time for themselves. They were served their preferred cocktails and a plate of hors devours while they reveled in the bliss of being newlyweds.

When it came time for guests to make their way upstairs to Bates Hall, they were greeted with an escort card display that doubled as favors. Playing into the library theme, Milo & Zach sourced custom wooden bookmarks dressed which were engraved with each guests’ name and designated table number. This small detail spoke volumes to family and friends, showing the care and consideration the couple took to make everyone feel special.

And special they felt, when they were greeted by servers with tableside wine and synchoronized dinner service by The Catered Affair. These small touches can go a long way to elevate the guest experience, providing a touch of luxury to yet another aspect of the evening.

Milo and Zach took the first few moments of dinner to speak directly to their family and friends, thanking them for the important role they held in the couple’s individual and joint growth. Everyone in the room had smiles that reached their eyes, radiating support and happiness for these two ad they began the next chapter of their lives.

Both sets of parents gave beautiful speeches to a room full of attentive guests. And if you were there then you know, neither was shy about sharing their strong desire for grandchildren!

While guests enjoyed dinner, a small group of friends from both wedding parties got up to congratulate the couple and commemorate their time together. It was inspiring to hear how while each speach was different, they all took time to call out the same attributes they admired in the couple. One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is getting to listen to speeches about the bride and groom. Our team spends months, sometimes even years working closely with them, but to hear about them from those who know them best is humbling.

While Milo & Zach chose to participate in a private cake cutting, the photos will show you how much detail went into the creation of it. From the airy and whimsical floral meadow, to the personalized custom cake toppers, the couple put alot of thought into how they wanted to capture this moment.

Guests were invited in the Abbey Room to share in the special moment of parent dances, a tradition that I find to be particularly tear inducing. It is such a beautiful moment between the couple and their parents, where the room and guests around them tends to melt away.

When it came time to open up the dancefloor for the evening, DJ Max Baun of C-Zone Entertainment was ready. He knew what the guests wanted to hear, and kept them moving and grooving all night long. The guest experience was far from over, however. Couple Milo & Zach had custom temporary tattoo stations available, where guests could adorn their bodies with cute and romantic tattoos, their faces included!

Boylston Room was also the hub for custom guest portraits, created on site by Amanda Gallagher of Green Door Productions. This is a fun and interactive way to keep your guests engaged in the evening festivities, whether they need a break from dancing or are stopping by the bar for a fresh beverage.

The last experience for guests was found as they exited for the evening. A generous display of specially curated novels were purchased by the couple as an additional favor to their guests. Drawn from titles in their personal collections, family and friends perused the options before selecting the one(s) they liked best. This final act of consideration by Milo & Zach sealed the deal on their truly remarkable wedding, leaving a lasting impression on those who were a part of the magic.
